Application of oil resistant agent in shoe material coatings


In the shoe material manufacturing industry, the performance and quality of coatings are directly related to the appearance, durability and comfort of shoes. As an important coating additive, oil repellent plays an important role in shoe coatings. In this paper, the basic concept, types, properties of oil repellents and their specific applications in shoe coatings will be discussed in depth.


1、 Basic concepts of oil repellent

Oil resistant agent is a colorless and transparent liquid, which has the characteristics of lubrication, high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, aging resistance, moisture resistance, etc. It is widely used in various coatings and ink systems to provide excellent protection for metals, plastics and other materials. In shoe material coatings, oil repellent mainly plays the role of anti oil stain, anti shrinkage cavity, and enhancing scratch resistance.


2、 Types of oil repellents


There are many members in the oil resistance family, including UV oil resistance, Pu oil resistance, recoating oil resistance, water-based oil resistance and oil resistance.


UV oil repellent: suitable for UV paint system, with excellent oil resistance.


Pu oil repellent: especially suitable for PU varnish system, which can significantly improve the oil stain resistance and anti shrinkage effect of the coating.


Recoating oil repellent: Based on modified polysiloxane, it provides multiple protection such as high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, etc., especially suitable for shoe materials that need to be coated for many times.


Water based oil resistant agent: mainly composed of polyester modified dimethylpolysiloxane, it has the functions of reducing surface tension, improving wettability and preventing shrinkage.


Oil resistant agent: the main component is active silicone, which can significantly reduce the surface tension of the coating and prevent defects such as shrinkage cavity or fish eye caused by pollutants.


3、 Performance of oil repellent in shoe coatings


Oil resistant performance: the oil resistant agent can form a dense protective film, effectively prevent oil penetration and adhesion, and keep the surface of shoes clean and beautiful.


Anti shrinkage performance: oil repellent can improve the wettability of the coating to the substrate and prevent shrinkage caused by substrate pollution or uneven coating composition.


Enhanced scratch resistance: the oil repellent can increase the hardness and toughness of the coating, so as to improve the scratch resistance of the shoe surface.

Improve gloss: the oil repellent can improve the leveling property of the coating, make the coating more smooth and flat, and improve the gloss and brightness of the shoe material.


4、 Specific application of oil resistant agent in shoe material coatings


Sole coating: adding an appropriate amount of oil repellent to the sole coating can significantly improve the oil resistance and wear resistance of the sole and prolong the service life of the shoes.


Vamp coating: after adding oil repellent to vamp coating, it can prevent vamp from turning yellow and dark due to oil pollution, and maintain the appearance and bright color of vamp.


Shoe material printing ink: adding anti oil agent to the shoe material printing ink can prevent the ink from sticking and blurring due to oil stain during the printing process, and improve the printing effect and quality.


5、 Precautions

Select the appropriate oil resistant agent: select the appropriate type and amount of oil resistant agent according to the type and performance requirements of shoe material coatings.

Uniform mixing: in the process of coating production, it is necessary to ensure that the oil repellent is fully mixed with the coating evenly to avoid the phenomenon of local concentration being too high or too low.


Storage and transportation: the oil resistant agent is non hazardous, but in the storage and transportation process, attention should be paid to the mixing of moisture-proof, acid and alkali and other impurities to avoid affecting its performance and use effect.
